Melakkottai Panchayat, Thirumangalam Panchayat Union, Madurai District.
Village Service Project, under the aegis of the World Community Service Center, was introduced in our village by Sri. SKM. Maeilanandhan. Our village has remained free of petty quarrels, unhygienic conditions and loud noises from even the first day of its implementation, with people living in harmony and peace. Number of persons who consume alcohol has come down and awareness camps regarding Dengue fever and AIDS have helped us greatly. A cultural program by the Dharmapuri Kalairani Trust, as well as a program held during the Pongal festival, wherein 175 foreign nationals, with the assistance of the Tamilnadu Tourism Board, participated,and people being taken to Aliyar for a visit are some of the highlights of the course. We express grateful thanks to the functionaries of the World Community Service Center for all this.

I live in Thuvarangadu village and work as a driver. I used to consume alcohol regularly. I joined the Manavalakkalai Yoga Courses conducted in our village, and the practices, particularly simplified physical exercises and meditation have helped me overcome my need for alcohol.

For the past one year, Manavalakkalai Yoga, under the Village Service Project of the World Community Service Center, has been implemented, successfully, in our village. Participants were provided with basic education besides rules of good conduct, physical exercises and yoga, all of which helped transform our village into a haven of peace and tranquility. Our village has provided, free of cost, a place for the construction of a meditation center for people to practice yoga everyday. I express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the functionaries of the World Community Service Center for all the good work done by them. I wish them all success in the future. Thank you. A Temple of Consciousness, inaugurated by the President, World Service Community Center in our village, continues to function well. As a special case, people who belong to the Pazhangudi Community in our village were provided with training under Manavalakkalai at their residences itself.
