Environment pollution and global warming are typically recent phenomenon where natural ingredients are damaged by the presence of dangerous ingredients which causes imbalance in the universe and create a lot of health hazards to all living beings including mankind. The country has become polluted because of the air, water, noise and atmosphere. It is reaching worrying proportions worldwide. While everyone believe that urbanization and industrialization have led to increase in waste discharges and energy consumption leading to environment pollution, the villages have not escaped from the tentacles of this dangerous demon. The most important harmful effects are prenatal disorders, infant mortality, respiratory disorders, allergy, malignancies, cardiovascular disorders, increase in stress oxidative, endothelial dysfunction, mental disorders besides barren landscape, dirty dwelling, unclean and foul smelling surroundings. Numerous studies have exposed that environmental particulate exposure has been linked to increased risk of morbidity and mortality from many communicable diseases, To get fresh water and fresh air, afforestation is necessary
WCSC- SKY volunteers guide/help people in various aspects of environment issues, like removal of waste, avoid open defecation, planting saplings, nurturing the trees, providing 20 plastic dustbins in Green and Red color to the villagers to segregate bio &non-bio degradable wastes, etc. Public awareness is increased through a lot of activities in the villages. A lot of awareness and assistance to keep the surroundings clean is provided by arranging environment awareness camps and road rallies in the villages.
As a part of the capacity building on disaster risk reduction, a tree plantation campaign titled One tree One family` is held to protect the village from soil erosion. The campaign supports the government`s efforts to minimize the threats posed by climate change and future environmental hazards. Free tree saplings are provided to the families at the initial stage of the project so that the village becomes greener and beautiful.
